About the Program
The Dental Science program is for students interested in a career in the world of dentistry. This exciting program allows students to engage in a hands-on learning experience using state-of-the-art tools and simulators while earning high school credits and hours toward state licensure. The courses consist of both lecture and lab instruction.

Meet the Team
Jessica Andrews is a dental professional and educator with 18+ years of experience in clinical practice, workforce development, and mentoring dental assistants. Her career spans roles from dental assistant to Regional Manager, with experience in Oral Surgery, Pediatrics, General Dentistry, Endodontics, and General Anesthesia. An EFDA with Restorative Functions Certification and Oregon Board of Dentistry Radiology Instructor certification, Jessica is passionate about helping new assistants build confidence and skills. She also serves on the Oregon Dental Assistant Workforce Committee, supporting training pathways and workforce development across Oregon.

* Practicum Expanded Functions (EFDA). Students will be able to learn and practice these hands-on skills, for the most part at the WCA.
* Job Shadows with local dentists to complete competencies for dental assisting exam.
